Baked Turkey Wings

Ingredients:

  • 4 large turkey wings

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 onion (sliced)

  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 teaspoons paprika

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare Turkey Wings:

    • Clean the turkey wings and pat them dry with paper towels.

    • Rub the wings all over with olive oil.

  3. Seasoning:

    • In a small bowl, combine paprika, dried thyme, dried rosemary, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

    • Rub the seasoning mixture all over the turkey wings, making sure they are well coated.

  4. Sear the Turkey Wings (optional for extra flavor):

    • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of olive oil.

    • Sear the turkey wings for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are browned. This step adds more flavor but can be skipped if desired.

  5. Prepare the Baking Dish:

    • In a large baking dish, spread out the sliced onions and bell peppers to create a bed for the turkey wings.

    • Place the turkey wings on top of the onions and bell peppers.

  6. Add Liquids:

    • Pour the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce over the turkey wings.

    • Add the minced garlic evenly over the wings and in the broth.

  7. Cover and Bake:

    • Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. This helps keep the wings tender and juicy by trapping the steam.

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the turkey wings are tender and the meat is falling off the bone. Check occasionally to ensure there is enough liquid; add more broth if necessary.

  8. Final Browning:

    • Remove the foil during the last 15-20 minutes of baking to allow the turkey wings to brown nicely on top.

  9. Garnish and Serve:

    • Once the turkey wings are done, remove them from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.

    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

  10. Serve:

  • Serve these tender baked turkey wings with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy!
