Baked Turkey Wings
Ingredients:
4 large turkey wings
3 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 onion (sliced)
1 bell pepper (sliced)
2 cups chicken broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare Turkey Wings:
Clean the turkey wings and pat them dry with paper towels.
Rub the wings all over with olive oil.
Seasoning:
In a small bowl, combine paprika, dried thyme, dried rosemary, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Rub the seasoning mixture all over the turkey wings, making sure they are well coated.
Sear the Turkey Wings (optional for extra flavor):
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of olive oil.
Sear the turkey wings for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are browned. This step adds more flavor but can be skipped if desired.
Prepare the Baking Dish:
In a large baking dish, spread out the sliced onions and bell peppers to create a bed for the turkey wings.
Place the turkey wings on top of the onions and bell peppers.
Add Liquids:
Pour the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce over the turkey wings.
Add the minced garlic evenly over the wings and in the broth.
Cover and Bake:
Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. This helps keep the wings tender and juicy by trapping the steam.
Bake in the preheated oven for 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the turkey wings are tender and the meat is falling off the bone. Check occasionally to ensure there is enough liquid; add more broth if necessary.
Final Browning:
Remove the foil during the last 15-20 minutes of baking to allow the turkey wings to brown nicely on top.
Garnish and Serve:
Once the turkey wings are done, remove them from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Serve:
Serve these tender baked turkey wings with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
