GROUP THERAPY
Our support groups are the heart of our passion to help others. We provide a safe place for participants to grow and to learn from one another. Our groups are facilitated by our very own Deana D. Johnson, LCSW-C. She is prepared to provide psychoeducation and to keep the group conversation safe and inclusive. All in-person groups are held at Baltimore County Towson Library (Wilson Room) located 320 York Rd, Towson, MD 21204; the contact number is 410-887-6166. The cost is $75.00 per session.
The Eating Disorder Support Group is a bi-weekly 90-minute therapy group for individuals, 18 years and older who are in stable recovery but desire a learning opportunity to discuss how to develop a healthier view of themselves and to deepen their understanding of how emotions are connected to disordered eating and self-image. The Eating Disorder Support Group will accept 10 to 15 participants at a time and is scheduled to run for 6 months from June 11, 2022, to December 10, 2022. In-Person Sessions will take place every other Saturday from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
The first few years following weight-loss surgery can be a very exciting experience, however there may be a time when you may reach a plateau and maintaining the weight loss takes effort and hard work. It is not uncommon for patients to slip back into old habits, regain a few pounds and to become discouraged. If you are having this experience and need education, motivation, or rededication, you may find the Post-Surgical Weight Loss Support Group as helpful and supportive. This group is design to help you to stay focus, in control and successful. There is a monthly weigh-in, which is an important element of accountability and provides an opportunity to reconnect and rededicate yourself to your long-term goals. The Post-Surgical Weight Loss Support Group will accept 10 to 15 participants at a time and is scheduled to run for 6 months from June 11, 2022, to December 10, 2022. In-Person Sessions will take place every other Saturday from 01:00 PM to 02:30 PM.
We are hoping that as a group participant, you will feel comfortable and safe enough, to express your thoughts, your struggles and your support for others. We ask that as an participant, you are vaccinated regarding COVID-19 (must show documentation before participating) and willing to practice social distancing while occupying the meeting room. You should remain home and not attend the in-person groups, if you are not feeling well.
